This session is specifically aimed at traditionally trained project managers who are new to agile, and who would like to be able to relate the Project Management Institute's (PMI) best practices to their equivalent practices in agile. As a result of being able to associate many of these new agile ideas to things you are already familiar with, you can begin the conference with a new shared lexicon and clear knowledge of general agile concepts. In addition to the mapping of PMBOK knowledge areas to agile practices, the presenters will also focus on how the job of the traditional project manager is re-defined into a new - and often more important - role in the agile development process. Leave with a better understanding of some of the necessary changes you'll need to make in order to lead and support an agile team. Use this new awareness to guide you as you make your selections from the many offerings in the conference schedule.
